Main Tasks & Duties:
- Assist HOD in handling ORM staff management issues, including resource management, allocation of work within the team and overseeing the ORM’s team production and ensure team’s goals are achieved
- Manage and review day-to-day activities of ORM team, oversees the functionality and provides coaching, mentoring and guidance to team members, with aims to develop the team’s skills and managing conflict
- Governance, oversight and provide guidance in Internal Control and Operational Risks (including Fraud Management) related matters, New Product Management, Business Continuity Management and Outsourcing Management
- Keep abreast of latest operational risk management techniques and industry best practices.
- Perform operational risk trends analysis and developing risk mitigation strategies for future improvements.
- Lead, consolidate and report operational risk (including Fraud & Scam), New product related matter to Risk Management Committee (RMC), Senior Management, Head Office and regulator
- Serves as a subject matter expert for all Operational risk issues/ new initiatives that surfaces and collaborate with relevant departments / specialists to resolve the matters
- Advice and support departments in Operational Risks identification, assessment and controls of business processes
- Review and update of policies and procedures relating to Operational Risk Management , Fraud Management, New Product Management and other P&Ps maintain by ORM
- Plan, lead, facilitate periodic Risk and Control Self-assessments (“RCSA”), Track and follow up with stakeholders on the RCSA Issue & Action Status Updates; analyse and prepare bank-wide RCSA status reporting based on the results derived by the departments to RMC
- Support initiatives and reviews on Operational Risks (including fraud risks) for implementation and enforcement of Incidence reporting, Key Risk Indicator (KRI), and other initiatives rolled out by Head Office
- Champion for New product, provide supports in New Product Approval process and strive for continuous enhancement and improvement in NP process, and acting as the Secretariat of the New Product Committee
- Prepare relevant Operational risk reports and presentation materials to Risk Management Committee (RMC), Senior Management, Head office and regulator
- Conduct new staff orientation training on operational risk, fraud risk, new product, Business Continuity Management and Outsourcing
- Any other work assigned from time to time by supervisor or the Management
Job Requirements:
- Recognized bachelor degree or above , preferably in Business, Banking and Finance or related discipline
- Min. 6 years’ experience in a Financial Institution, preferably in Operational risk or control related functions
- Excellent writing ability and verbal communication skills in English.
- Able to communicate in Mandarin to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Possess strong organization skills
- Meticulous and detail oriented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding and knowledge in Operational Risk, MAS
- Guidelines and Notices on Risk Management practices, BCM and Outsourcing Guidelines
- Ability to work independently and able to adapt to a dynamic environment
