BANK HR GENERALIST (YEARLY RENEWABLE)

Work Location: Central Business District

Working within the Singapore HR Services Team providing HR services to countries in South East Asia, and alongside the HR Business Partners you will:

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders to administer various HR related processes for all employees. You will work on tasks and projects related to people management to execute onboarding, life events, contract rollover, exit processes and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

These include but are not limited to:

Onboarding of New Joiners

  • Collate all new joiners’ information and onboarding paperwork and work closely with HR Shared Services Center (HRSSC) in Bangalore and background screening vendor to ensure a seamless process for new joiners
  • Send new joiner notification to HRSSC, P-files creation, following up closely to ensure all essential documents are signed and received
  • Review HR records to ensure that these have been correctly created and / or updated in the HR system
  • Work with various internal departments such as Information Technology, Finance and Corporate Services to resolve any issue with new joiner’s access to internal applications
  • Liaise with Compliance department on employee registration / regulatory licensing with MAS
  • Review background check reports for completeness and escalate major discrepancies / seek approval to close off minor discrepancies
  • Meet and greet new joiners on their first day at work and go through onboarding formalities
  • Ensure all HR documents relating to new joiners are complete and well received
  • End of probation and confirmation of employment

International Mobility

  • Initiate relocation process for overseas new hires / internal transfers such as work pass application, booking of temporary accommodation, shipment of personal effects, tax assistance etc

Off boarding of employees

  • Initiate off boarding process for leavers
  • Conduct exit clearance with leavers, manage all associated paperwork and queries
  • Cancellation of work pass on MyMOM portal and issue Cancellation Letter and Short-Term Visit Pass where applicable
  • Ensure all HR documents relating to leavers are complete and properly documented in the P-file

Contract Extension for Fixed Term Employees

  • Review monthly contract expiry report and handle extension discussion with managers
  • Handle contract conversion processes including but not limited to salary / title proposal, obtaining approvals etc.

Life Events

  • Handle the process of re-employment of older workers
  • Review work pass expiry report and initiate the renewal process
  • Ensure changes relating to life events, e.g. marriage, childbirth, etc. are accurately recorded in the Human Capital Online Management system (HCOM)
  • Advise employees on life events administration such as advising on the optimal usage of maternity leave benefit

Operational

  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Attend to non-standard employee queries
  • Perform HR controls as part of the Bank’s Risk Management Framework
  • Handle and work closely with Compliance on matters relating to annual / periodic checks on employees
  • Submission of MAS 753 Notification for regulated employees
  • Manage regulatory surveys to ensure accuracy and timeliness with its submission
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Invoices management and processing
  • Suggest new procedures and policies (while maintaining compliance with the employment laws and regulations) to continually improve efficiency of the HR processes and to improve employee experience
  • Advise HRBPs and employees / managers on Singapore legislation / employee matters
  • Monitor, review and manage work product from off-shored HR team for timeliness and accuracy

Others/HR Projects

  • Lead and manage the annual / periodic employee background checks working closely with Compliance department, external background and credit check vendors and HRSSC team
  • Lead and manage the annual Health & Wellness Month from end to end – planning activities to cater for different employee demographics, getting in touch with vendors, negotiate pricing, see to logistics, drafting the employee broadcast and managing the registration tool.
  • Participate in adhoc projects as required
  • Support the HR Business Partner and HR Specialist teams with regular annual data exercises and projects relating to, talent management, compensation, employee relations, recruitment, mobility and career management.

Learning and Development

  • Handle end to end training grant administration / submission with IBF and internal audit
  • Assist in setting up training sessions

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Prior 5 years generalist work experience in a HR related role will be advantageous
  • Must be able to communicate and write in fluent English
  • Proficient in MS office including scheduling meetings in Teams
  • Good listening and summarizing skills
  • Resilient and enjoys working in a highly dynamic environment
  • Organized and diligent with a natural inclination for planning and follow through
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others in different locations
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Education – Diploma or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of local employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Salary Range: $6,000 - $7,500 Per Month
