BANK PROJECT MANAGER, AFC GOVERNANCE (CONTRACT)
Job Description:
The AFC Governance Project Manager will oversee the three core APAC delivery of the multi-year location/ business line project deliveries, namely:
- APAC MI
- APAC Risk and Controlls deliveries – including the APAC implementation of the new global system and operating model
- APAC regulatory and Enforcements lead – core delivery of the APAC wide Obligation register and sustainable operating model thereafter
The role will be working directly for the APAC AFC T&R Programme Director and matrix into the corresponding global Programme Directors (UK) under each stream.
Responsibilities/ Measures of success will include:
- Managing projects and resources to meet regulatory and business requirements, including design and implementation of priority initiatives
- Defining APAC deliverables and manage detailed implementation plans required to support solutions
- Provide transparency around progress status and key risks/issues being faced towards achieving success on the in-flight projects to various stakeholder groups
- Managing and overseeing internal and (on occasion) external resources to meet deliverables
- Developing and managing relationships with sponsors and stakeholders across business lines and supporting infrastructure teams
- Driving work-stream delivery through full project lifecycle managing core project tasks and meetings including updates for senior stakeholders
- Support and drive the project teams to develop and document end-to-end roles and responsibilities, including process flow, operating procedures, as well as the required controls
- Drive issue resolution or options articulation around any problems or challenges that crop up in the course of execution of the various initiatives
- Ensuring relationship management of diverse business units – brokering regional and global cohesion; including Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) , Global Markets (GM) and PW &CC, Wealth Management (WM)
- Create and participating in various Governance & Business oversight Committees

The successful applicant will be asked to demonstrate experience in successfully leading wide reaching global projects – with a broad understanding of current regulatory environment and considerable internal operating experience.
- Previous experience leading large scale AFC/FCC TM implementations/ regulatory implementation and / or remediation programmes with firm-wide high-priority milestones
- Sound understanding of the macro investment banking environment and industry initiatives, particularly around regulation
- Strong industry knowledge, in particular Global Transaction Banking (GTB), Global Markets (GM). As well as investment banking front to back processes across infrastructure groups including Legal and Compliance by business and product
- Some exposure to outsouring contracts and processes
- Good understanding of client on-boarding, the KYC lifecycle and industry best practice
- Excellent application of project management methodologies across delivery lifecycle
- Ability to determine and resolve project slippage, scope changes, and prioritize deliverables to ensure critical milestones are met
- Knowledge of Compliance Regulations and Anti-Financial Crime such as Anti Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery Corruption
